Kaspa (KAS) is a community-run, proof-of-work cryptocurrency that launched in November 2021 with no pre-mine, pre-sale, or coin allocations. It uses a BlockDAG consensus protocol called GHOSTDAG to achieve fast block rates and short confirmation times, and aims to function as a global sequencer for traditional and decentralized markets. Its design also supports smart contract development through based-rollups, plus features like DAG topology queries, block pruning, and SPV proofs.
